He served as Chairman, Department of History, MAO College, Lahore (1967-88) and Islamia College, Lahore (1988-93). He represented Pakistan at the International Congress on Quaid-e-Azam, Islamabad, 1976 and International Congress on Allama Iqbal, Lahore 1977.
