The Joy of Urdu, a volunteer-run, bilingual organisation promoting Urdu language and literature, will be conducting a soft launch of their publication company, featuring a bilingual book, Three Stories From Gulistan-e-Saadi, for children and adults.
The launch, which is set to take place online today (November 26) at 7pm Pakistan time and can be watched via Zoom, will mark the 10-year anniversary of the organisation, which is a women-led, international, volunteer-run and bilingual, and makes Urdu accessible via bilingual content, with reading group chapters around the world aimed to educate the new generation.
The publication, however, is the culmination of the organisation's many years of work by a dedicated team of volunteers, advised by experts in the field. It has been proofread and approved by Dr Arfa, and the organisation's team of advisors including educationists and socio-linguistic experts, while the illustrations for it were specially commissioned original miniature paintings by acclaimed contemporary artist, Shah Abdullah Alamee, which were composed and painted especially for the book.
