It is an expression of emotions of a Commander for 140 of his men who got burie under millions of tons of glacial mass that an avalanche had dumped on their location. These men were the brave sons of soil, belonged o different areas of Pakistan and were stationed at Gyari to guard the frozen frontiers of the country as part of 6th Battalion, the Northern Light Infantry Regiment (NLI). Pakistan Army launched a rescue operation to recover the men buried under the snow. The men employed to launch this operation and who took it to a successful conclusion were also under my command.
