The villagers expect a game and a crowd gathers. The murderer is chosen, the victim falls, and soon, the lights go out. It’s suddenly no longer a game when a dead body is found, and Ms. Blacklock ends up with a bleeding ear. The story proceeds, unravelling the mystery behind the incident.
