A Murder Is Announced is a work of detective fiction by Agatha Christie. A strange notice appears in the Gazette of a perfectly ordinary small English village, and Little Paddocks is mentioned as the venue. An astonished Letitia Blacklock, the owner of Little Paddocks, has no idea of this notice and what it means. However, she prepares herself for the evening, expecting guests at Little Paddocks. The intrigued villagers carry a definite interest and appear on the doorstep with awkward reasons. A man appears with a blinding torch, as the light goes out at 6:30. The villagers expect a game and a crowd gathers. The murderer is chosen, the victim falls, and soon, the lights go out. It’s suddenly no longer a game when a dead body is found, and Ms. Blacklock ends up with a bleeding ear. The story proceeds, unravelling the mystery behind the incident.
