Holden Caufield is a young man who has bad luck with schools. Now at Pencey prep school in Agerstown, Pennsylvania, his fourth school, he has again failed four out of five subjects and is about to be expelled once again. Fraught with annoyance at how his teachers and so-called friends treat him, he returns to his home in Manhatten three days before his parents expect him and checks into a hotel. He begins to find that the time he has gives him the chance to do whatever he wants and soon begins to flirt with women in their thirties and tries to enjoy the time he has before he returns to his parents as well and as notoriously as he can. However, if he isn't cautious, his already bleak future could become worse.
