Coach Josh Floyd is entering his 5th season at Hewitt-Trussville. The Huskies have gone 22-2 the last 2 seasons, while winning back to back region championships. The 2016 & 2017 Hewitt-Trussville teams were the first teams in school history to go 10-0 in a regular season. The 2017 team was ranked as high as #18 in the USA Today national rankings. The team has also set new Alabama state records for offensive yards per game each of the last 2 seasons. The Huskies have had 17 players sign D1 scholarships the last 3 years. In Floyd's first 4 years at HT, the Huskies have the 4th most wins in Alabama 7A football. In 2014, the Birmingham News named Floyd the Metro coach of the year. Before coming to Hewitt-Trussville, Floyd led Shiloh Christian High School in Springdale, Arkansas to 4 state championships and 1 state runner-up finish. During his time at Shiloh, several players set new state records in both offensive and defensive categories. In 2010, QB Kiehl Frazier was named the USA Today Offensive Player of the Year. He has coached in the Under Armour All-American Game and was named one of the Top 10 coaches under 40 by American Football Monthly. Coach Floyd has had over 50 student-athletes that have gone onto play at the collegiate level, with several of them going to Division 1 schools. Floyd played college football at Ouachita Baptist University until a career-ending injury. Before that, he set 2 national records as a quarterback at Shiloh Christian High School, leading them to the school's first state championship under the tutelage of Auburn Head Coach Gus Malzahn. Floyd has a career record of 132-42-1. He has been married to his wife Kate for 15 years and they have 3 sons - Peyton (13), Parker (11) and Jack (8).
