Samina was born in Bhopal, India and grew up in Pakistan and Buffalo, New York. She is a molecular biologist and has a wonderful son who is 25 years old. She lives in Louisville, Kentucky with her loving husband who is also a scientist. She is the host of Bipolar1blog, which is about bipolar 1 disorder, lithium, mania, depression, hypomania, and, most importantly, hope.
