Shahnaz Ahsan is the author of Hashim & Family (April 2020, John Murray Press).
She is also an award-winning writer of short stories and has written a screenplay set in her hometown of Keighley. Her articles on issues of multiculturalism, race, religion and society have appeared in national daily newspapers and online magazines.
Born and raised in West Yorkshire, she has lived in Oxford, London, Philadelphia, and Addis Ababa, but her flattened northern vowels remain victorious.
