Xcess Baggage is the story of Meghna Chandra, a twenty-two- year-old girl settled in the U.S. Running from her past she is leading a life which is nothing to write home about. On Christmas Eve she meets Byron, the handsome but dangerous vampire who stalks her . However , she is completely unaware of his true intentions. Though wary initially, she soon develops a deep liking for him. But before she discovers the truth about Byron, she is kidnapped by him and his supernatural clan and transported to an exotic location. Meghna is deeply hurt and shocked when she comes to know the reason behind Byron s presence in her life, i. e. she has to be killed to rid him and his clan of their immortality. Stunned that she is going to be the sacrificial lamb she pleads everyone to allow her to live, but without success. Not willing to give up, Meghna tries her best to escape Byron and his clan, only to be caught by him and brought back to her death altar . On the death bed, when there is no hope for Meghna to survive, she gets a lifeline and the shock of her life as Byron, her killer-to-be, arranges for her miraculous escape. Only then she realises that Byron also nurtured feelings for her , while being cold and distant all the way.
