Eric Idle is an English actor, comedian, songwriter, musician, screenwriter and playwright. He was a member of the British surreal comedy group Monty Python and the parody rock band the Rutles. Idle studied at Pembroke College, Cambridge, and joined Cambridge University Footlights.
