Dr Gladys Chepkirui Ngetich is a Rhodes Scholar and a Schmidt Science Fellow. She is currently working as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Space Enabled Research Group at MIT. She earned her DPhil in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. Before joining Oxford, Gladys pursued her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in Kenya. Gladys has been a recipient of many notable awards and recognitions, including the International Astronautical Federation Emerging Space Leader Award, International Gas Turbine Institute Young Engineer Award, UK Rare Rising Star, Skoll World Forum Fellowship, and Kenya’s Top 40 Under 40 Women. Gladys’ research and her inspirational academic journey have been featured in Nature and twice on BBC Science News. Gladys is passionate about empowering students and helping them unleash their full potential. She has published two books with the hope of inspiring others: 1.
