Aziz Ali Najam hails from Peshawar. He was educated at the Islamia High School, Edwardes College, and Islamia College, Peshawar and graduated with a Master's from Peshawar University. He started his teaching career at Edwardes College, and P.A.F. College, Peshawar and then proceeded to UK for further studies. After obtaining a doctorate from University of Sussex, he worked as post-doctoral fellow at University of Essex, Colchester, and Brunel University, London. Back in Pakistan he held key positions at the Aga Khan University, G.I.K. Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Usman Institute of Technology, and served as the Vice Chancellor of Karakoram International University, Gilgit Baltistan. Currently he is engaged as Provost (SPD) at the National University of Medical Sciences, Rawalpindi/Islamabad.
