Beginning with a used Porsche 911S in 1973, Gordon Maltby has spent almost 50 years driving Porsches of all kinds. Repairing, maintaining and restoring the cars gave him a solid background to write about the historical and technical aspects of the cars. His first book was the Motorbooks title "Porsche 356 and RS Spyders" in 1991. The following year he began a 27-year career as editor and publisher of Porsche 356 Registry magazine, retiring in 2019. His company RPM Auto Books published several Porsche titles including Porsche 356 Performance Guide; The Complete Porsche 912 Guide; The Used 911 Story; Buying, Driving and Enjoying the Porsche 356; Buying, Driving and Enjoying the Porsche 911/912; 356 Registry Technical and Restoration Guide, Vol. 2. In 2020 he published "Growing Up Wright" by his wife Lonnie Lovness. His latest title from Motorbooks is "75th Anniversary, Porsche 356" to be released in April, 2023.
