I'm a slow reader - which is something I love to be when it comes to good books. As it turns out, I’m a slow writer too. I decided to start this blog so that I could share aspects of my creative process with other writers and readers at a gentler pace. Reflecting on process helps to clarify things for me too. I find that thinking about the craft of writing often serves to lift, inspire, reassure or challenge whatever I’m working on, no matter how stuck things can sometimes feel. Books and stories are transformative, they ignite the magic and power of the imagination whatever your age, whether you are a child seeing the world for the first time or fully grown up and you've seen it all before. Books connect. Books enable us to step into somebody else's shoes, to see the world through somebody else's eyes, to think, question and feel from somebody else's perspective. In my mind at least, that matters. Very much. And that's really why I love to read and why I'm so grateful to spend as much time as I can, writing.
