After training as a physiotherapist and gymnastics teacher at the Medau School in Coburg , she studied German and theater studies at the Free University of Berlin. She came to Sender Freies Berlin (SFB) in 1989 as a reporter. From 1990 Anja Caspary moderated at the youth station Radio 4U and was also heard on the ARD pop night. From 1992 she switched to Ostdeutscher Rundfunk Brandenburg (ORB) and helped to set up the youth radio station Fritz . As part of the listener chart show Fritz RoadshowTogether with Ansa Seidenstücker, she surprised listeners throughout Brandenburg at home unannounced. From 1995 to 1997 she switched to television, presenting programs on the music channel VH-1 Germany . Since the founding of Radio Eins at Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB) in 1997, she has presented magazines in the daily program, special programs such as The Long Night of Operas and Theaters and The Long Night of Museums . Every Monday night she could be heard with her own show Radio Affair , a bridge between classic rock and new music. A hallmark of the show was Die Lange Rille , in which music titles with overlength were played, which was a peculiarity in the German public radio landscape. In August 2012 she was nominated by the Grimme Institute for the German Radio Prize in the category "Best Presenter". [1] In September 2015, she took over as head of the Radio Eins music department, succeeding Peter Radszuhn , who died in 2014 . Since 2007, Anja Caspary has also worked as a DJ at Rock AG in the Berlin club Lido . Anja Caspary was married to the musician Hagen Liebing , who died in 2016 , whom she met in 1991 during the opening ceremony of the Hard Rock Cafe in Berlin's Meinekestraße, [2] and lives with their two children in Berlin. In September 2020, Ullstein published her book In my heart is a spear about her breast cancer and the death of her husband after a relationship of more than 25 years. The book was on the Spiegel bestseller list for paperbacks . The title of the autobiography is based on a line of text from the song Reise, Reise by the German rock band Rammstein from 2004, with a slight modification. Publicist Caspary previously asked the band if they could use this title for their book. [3]
