Author Information:

Born in India of Iraqi-Jewish parentage, Edmund Jonah learned his craft early, with his mother stirring his imagination by reading books aloud for him and his elder brother. His education in a Jesuit school in Darjeeling, 6500 feet up in the Himalayas, brought him knowledge of Jesus and the art of writing. In his book, he reclaims the Jewish Jesus and sets him in his own milieu. He spent 10 years in London, England where he took a course in creative writing and tried to begin his book there. It was not until he had migrated to Israel and experienced life in the Holy Land, learning the national character and visiting the towns and places that Jesus walked, was he able to finally complete the book. It took him about 5 years to research and write, and three decades of editing before he was satisfied with the result. From his research, he put together a lecture that he has been giving for the past 15 years and which is, happily, very well received.
