essica Farrell is currently the Asset President for BHP’s Nickel West business in Western Australia. Nickel West is a fully integrated mine-to-market business comprising of open-cut and underground mines, concentrators, a smelter and refinery, all located in Western Australia. The integrated business adds value throughout the nickel supply chain, with saleable products including nickel matte, nickel powder, nickel briquettes and nickel sulphate. Over 85% of Nickel West’s production is now sold to the battery materials industry for the production of the lithium-ion batteries that drive electric cars. Prior to this role, Jessica was General Manager, Integrated Planning and Remote Operations with BHP Iron Ore; accountable for the safety and operational leadership of the remote operations centre and the scheduling and planning of BHP’s supply chain in Western Australia. Jessica’s previous roles have included General Manager Port and Marine Operations within Rio Tinto, Manager Business Transformation, Mining Executive, Mine Services Manager, and Senior HR Manager - Strategic Initiatives for Copper and Principal Advisor Organisational Effectiveness. Jessica holds Bachelor degrees in Business and Arts and has undertaken a number of post-graduate studies through INSEAD, Duke, London Business School and IMD across Australia, Singapore, France, the United States and Switzerland.
