Amra Alam is a Karachi-based children’s writer and has authored over 80 storybooks in Urdu for children of all ages. She has also written and translated numerous stories for publication in India, many of which have been further translated into various regional languages. Ms Alam was the Founder and Chief Editor of Suntra, a magazine for children in Urdu, published from 2006 to 2012. Later, she edited the children’s magazine Uran Tashtaree—Flying Saucer, which was published from the platform of the Children’s Literature Festival. Ms Alam has written 18 serials for different television channels. She is a recipient of the Anita Ghulam Ali Award. Presently, she is conducting story writing workshops in different institutions
