Rene Lalique (1860-1945) was man of exceptional talent and versatility whose work converse both the art nouveau and art deco periods. In the year around the turn of the century he made some of the most breathtakingly beautiful jewellery ever seen. Later her war to turn his attention entirely to glass and adding business acumen to his artistic and technical skills rose to become one of the leading industrialists in France creating glassware of the highest standard. He also designed in teriors and exhibitions again using glass in totally new and original way.
